CHICAGO, October 6, 2014 - The new D200™ family from Wilson Staff, designed for the Distance player seeking distance and accuracy, blends The Right Light technology™ with other groundbreaking club head technologies.

Each of the clubs in the new D200 family embodies The Right Light™ technology, which optimally positions limited available mass to create a powerful, balanced, solid-feeling and sounding golf club. Wilson Staff research and testing shows that players of all calibers benefit from swinging lighter clubs because they apply the same amount of effort, but achieve greater distances due to increased club head and ball speeds.

"For us, it's not just about being lightweight," explains Michael Vrska, Global Director of Innovation. "The challenge with engineering The Right Light is optimizing the limited available mass for proper distribution among the head, shaft and grip to achieve the best performance for each club. Using our research from the predecessor D100 family, we continued to innovate The Right Light and fuse it with other advanced technologies, like adjustability in the new D200 driver."

D200 Drivers (MAP: $299.99)
With a total mass of just 268 grams, the D200 driver is one of the lightest and fastest adjustable drivers on the market.
• Reactive Face Technology increases the size of the face to provide more forgiveness on heel and toe impacts and increased MOI, and decreases the thickness around the lower half of the face to increase ball velocities on mishits.
• A chemically-etched crown reduces weight and increases the thickness toward the face for structural support and durability.
• Each 6-way adjustable hosel features three loft and three draw settings to optimize both launch angle and left-to-right ball flight. 9.0o, 10.5o and 13.0o models are available in right hand and the 10.5 o head is available in left hand.
• SuperLight™ technology (achieved with a 189-gram head, a 44-gram UST Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip) allows golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
• The Right Light™ technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the driver's limited available mass with a chemically-etched crown and a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.

D200 Fairway Woods (MAP: $249.99)
Maximum distance from the tee, fairway or rough can be obtained by the Carpenter Custom 455 maraging steel face insert combined with The Right Light technology.
• The premium Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert creates a thin, hot, high CT face for increased ball speeds and longer distances.
• An increase in face area, especially in the heel and toe areas, promotes forgiveness and improved ball speeds on off-center hits.
• Rounded sole designs yield versatility from all playing conditions.
• 3- (15.0o), 5- (18.0o) and 7-wood (21.0o) models are available in right hand and 3- (15.0o) and 5-wood (18.0o) models are available in left hand.
• SuperLight technology (achieved with a 49-gram UST Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip) allows golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
• The Right Light technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the fairway wood's limited available mass with a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.

D200 Hybrids (MAP: $179.99)
Maximum distance and versatility can be obtained by the Carpenter Custom 455 maraging steel face design combined with The Right Light technology.
• The premium Carpenter Custom 455 maraging stainless steel face insert creates a thin, hot, high CT face for increased ball speeds and longer distances.
• An increase in face area, especially near the toe, promotes forgiveness and improved ball speeds on off-center hits.
• Larger volume on stronger lofted heads provides forgiveness on longer shots.
• More bulge (face curvature) in stronger-lofted heads transitions to flatter faces on weaker-lofted heads provide optimal gear effect and accuracy.
• Multiple stock loft options perfectly distance-gap the set through custom fitting.
• 2- (17 o), 3- (19.0 o), 4- (21.0 o), 5- (23.0 o), 6- (25.0 o) and 7-hybrid (27.0o) models are available in right hand and 3- (19.0 o), 4- (21.0 o) and 5-hybrid (23.0 o) models are available in left hand.
• A 54-gram UST Elements Chrome shaft and a 25-gram Golf Pride Tour 25 grip allow golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
• The Right Light technology, achieved through optimizing the distribution of the hybrid's limited available weight with a thin variable face, allows golfers to swing even faster with the same effort.
D200 Irons (MAP: $599.99 steel | $699.99 graphite)
Headlined by a new innovation called Speed Sole Technology™, a thin face-to-sole transition allows the D200s to create driver-like CTs.
• Speed Sole Technology creates a thin face-to-sole transition, yielding a 234 CT and an increase in ball speed.
• Weight savings from the face and sole is redistributed to the heel and toe weight pods for increased MOI and forgiveness.
• Set makeup consists of 4-PW/GW steel (R- and S- flex) or graphite (A-, R- and S- flexes) available in both right and left hand.
• A 59-gram UST Elements Chrome graphite shaft or an 85-gram True Temper SL85 steel shaft allow golfers to increase club head speed for maximum distance.
• The Right Light technology, achieved through the redistribution of mass to heel and toe weight pods, allows golfers to make a balanced, solid-feeling swing.
UST Elements Chrome Shaft Technology
The technologies within the UST Elements Chrome woods, hybrid and iron shafts produce distance and accuracy for each club.
• State-of-the-art carbon fiber features high end, mirror finish ion plating from the mid-section to the tip end to provide a premium look and performance.
• Recoil Technology optimizes the spring effect and promotes the most efficient energy transfer from butt to tip to maximize ball speed and reduce ball dispersion.
• Variable Wall Thickness technology creates layers of graphite in each section of the shaft that vary for enhanced feel and better control and accuracy.
• All shafts are available in A-, R- and S-flexes.
"The new D200 is lighter than the D100 even with adjustability," comments Mathias Lundblad, Product Line Manager - Premium Clubs and Balls. "It allows Distance players to swing the Right Light on a loft setting that optimizes their trajectory. We're excited to see their results."

In 1914, Wilson was incorporated as a sporting goods company. Its golf division is commemorating its centennial anniversary on the eve of the 2014 PGA Merchandise Show by highlighting some of its influences in the sport, the invention of the wedge, the first endorsed athlete and wilson10061 consecutive years exhibiting at the PGA Merchandise Show, a century later.

In paying a further tribute, Wilson Staff will launch modern renditions of three of its most iconic products -- the Wilson Staff Dynapower irons, the Wilson Staff 8802 putter and the gold-wrapped golf ball.  The FG Tour 100 forged set honors the evolution of the blade with its vintage design attributes. The modernized 3-piece button-back emulates the feature on the 1971 Dynapower button-back blades. Available February 15 in-store and online, the 3-PW, GW set makeup comes stock with a True Temper Dynamic Gold (R300, S300 and X300) shaft and Lamkin Crossline Black grip. wilsonballs

The new 8802 putter continues the heritage of the original Wilson Staff milled 8802 that won multiple major championships by some of the best putters in history. The new 8802 is milled from 304 stainless steel for precision, feel and feedback with a double milled facing. Built with a head weight of 335 grams to work with today’s green speeds and ball construction, the 8802 putter comes stock with an updated stepless, flare tip True Temper Head Speed shaft with old-fashioned flutes as well as a Lamkin 3GEN Pistol grip. The putter will be available in the fall of 2014.

From the ProStaff, Ultra and Staff Titanium to the current DUO golf balls, Wilson has consistently featured low compression technology. The current packaging, though, has changed drastically over time, as individual gold foil wrapping from the 1950s no longer exists. Wilson Staff is bringing that style back with the Centennial DUO Pack, available in stores March 2014.

In addition to these three offerings, Wilson Staff is reviving the vintage shield and the Wilson script exclusively in 2014 to celebrate the 61 major victories that the logos help represent. The logos will appear on the 2014 Centennial Pro Tour golf bag, which the brand’s tour staff will sport at tournaments in the first half of the year. “Our main focus this year lies on our robust launch of F-C-D irons and our new FG Tour M3 woods family that will help golfers get custom fit into the right equipment,” explained Tim Clarke, General Manager. “However, there is just too much history to pass through our centennial year without celebrating it. Our tour players are excited about what we are offering, and can’t wait to get the new bags out on tour.”

Wilson Staff is introducing the newest edition of its “Di” family of distance irons, with modifications and updates in the Di11 iron.

The modified exoskeleton in the Di11 irons pulls weight low to promote a higher ball flight and back from the club face for better head stability and straighter ball flight. The ultra-wide sole is designed to improve turf interaction, allowing it to glide over tight lies and get through heavy rough.

Weight is also removed from the perimeter of the face and inside the cavity towards the heel to create a large, unsupported face. The urethane medallion from the Di9 was removed to pick up weight and replaced by a coating of lightweight elastomer used on the underside of bridges to dampen vibration from traffic.

A wider sweet spot and perimeter weighting, combined with the torsional stability of its wide tip shaft combine in the objective of more forgiveness and greater accuracy. Meanwhile, lightweight shaft options combine with the low, wide head design with the goal of more faster clubhead speed.

Wilson’s patented wide-tip shaft technology is offered on the stock set of Di11 irons to negate the twisting on off-centre hits for straighter, longer ball flight.

Also, the patent-pending Half-and-Half Shaft Technology that is also available was pioneered in baseball bats and features graphite under the grip through the mid-section to remove weight from under the hands and dampen vibration.

Steel is used from the mid-section through the tip to provide low torque and consistency for straighter shots in a 76-gram HNH shaft.

The Di11 irons also has a thinner top line.

“We classify the largest segment of the golfing population as D or distance players, who are looking to hit the ball further and straighter,” said Bob Thurman, global director of research and development for Wilson Golf.

“The Di11 not only meets these needs, it exceeds them. As we like to say: once you hit it, you get it.”

New traction control technology delivers superior performance with new groove standards
CHICAGO, May 13, 2010 - Wilson Golf was awarded an esteemed Golf Digest magazine Hot List medal for its newly designed D:25 golf ball in the "$20 and under" golf ball category. D:25 features new Traction Control Technology to offer great spin without sacrificing distance. The award was announced in the June issue.

Wilson Staff D:25 Golf Balls (12-Balls)

"Wilson is proud to have its golf balls recognized as one of the industry's best," said Tom Gruger, global director of marketing of Wilson Golf. "Affirmation from a leading publication is the kind of third-party endorsement that fuels trial with consumers, and that's great for us. This is an extremely soft distance ball that excels in head-to-head comparisons."

Wilson Staff's 2010 golf balls - developed in anticipation for the new groove standards - promote more spin and better playability around the greens. The winner of the Hot List silver award, the D:25 is a low-compression two-piece ball delivering minimal spin off the driver face. A 302-dimple design provides high lift conditions for more height on tee shots and longer carry distances. The D:25 golf ball was designed for players looking to hit longer drives and minimize mis-hits.

All Wilson Staff golf balls are built on a low-compression platform featuring ultra-soft, high-velocity cores for the softest feel with no sacrifice in distance. All three golf balls, the FG Tour, C:25 and D:25 utilize Wilson's breakthrough Traction Control Technology which is specifically tailored for the industry's new less-aggressive groove specifications. At impact, the low compression construction conforms to the clubface where more grooves are engaged through Traction Control Technology providing golfers with a 17 percent higher surface contact area and 13 percent more grooves that are engaged during impact compared to industry leading golf balls.

Most recently, Wilson Golf introduced an innovative approach to online golf ball fitting to help simplify the ball selection process. Consumers can go to: www.wilson.com/getfit and follow a series of questions to determine the best ball for their game.

Wilson Golf was awarded three other Golf Digest magazine Hot List medals in 2010:
• Gold medal for the revolutionary Wilson Staff D-FY iron/hybrid combination set in the super-game improvement iron category with the patent-pending Half-and-Half shaft technology to deliver the accuracy of steel and the response of graphite
• Gold medal award for the Wilson Staff Conform golf glove made of premium Abyssinian cabretta leather with the I-Pure wristband releasing negative ions to help body's overall performance.
• Silver medal for the Wilson Staff FG Tour irons in the player iron category for the better player looking for tour-preferred feel and response

All Wilson Staff equipment introduced in 2010 meets the new USGA and R&A groove standards for Conditions of Competition for Elite (Tour) Play. Individual news releases for each of the 2010 products are available on the Wilson Staff website at www.wilsonstaff.com.

The suggested list price for the Wilson Staff FG Tour golf ball is $37.99 per dozen, $24.99 per dozen C:25 golf balls and $19.99 for one dozen D:25 golf balls.
