New finish, model line-up, shape and blend refinements highlight updates to popular line

2012 Scotty cameron

Fairhaven, MA (October 5, 2011) - Notably prominent across the worldwide professional tours, with club professionals and competitive amateurs, and the undisputed choice of more players and more winners on the PGA TOUR for 14 consecutive years and counting, Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters inspire pure putting confidence. Designed, developed and refined through product and player research conducted at the state-of-the-art Cameron Putter Studio and on practice greens across the world, Cameron putters are precision-milled instruments of uncompromised feel, looks and performance that have come to symbolize a profound blend of art, technology, form and function. As a market leader in the premium putter category, Titleist further solidifies its high performance product offering by enhancing its successful California family of putters.

CAMERON CALIFORNIA PUTTERS - BACKGROUND: Scotty Cameron California putters were born from timeless, tour-proven designs and the modern weighting technology used in the successful line of Scotty Cameron Studio Select putters. Studio Select technology allows for precise balancing of putter head weight with shaft length. This technology, also incorporated into the original generation of California putters, provides a broader range of choices for length and weight to optimize performance for a wide range of putting strokes.

The first incarnation of California putters were inspired by several of Cameron's favorite designs from among his early Classics and Handmade models. These models appeal to players who prefer more fluid, less geometric lines and whose putting strokes might best be characterized as less "mechanical." With the California line, these players found that they no longer had to sacrifice performance for an aesthetically pleasing design. With the wide range of weight and length options that the California line offered, these players could now get a perfect fit for their stroke as well as their eye.

NEW FOR 2011: The 2011 California line builds on the form-meets-function achievements of the original California putters, accentuating an important Scotty Cameron design principle - visual flow.

"My main objective for the new California designs was to take the visual flow to a new level," explained Master Putter Designer Scotty Cameron. "When you look down at a great putter in the address position, it's easy to imagine the putter head flowing naturally right into the ground. The refinements we made to these five new models meet and exceed that ideal. It might be a bit esoteric, but you get the sense that water won't splash off these putters. It looks like water will just roll off the contours of the putters and shed gently off the edges."

Over thirty refinements were made in order to achieve the balanced shapes and blended surface and edge transitions found in the new California putters. Angles in the face, sole and neck are precisely milled to ensure that each model presents a perfectly square set-up at address. Incorporating a trend that has become popular among Cameron enthusiasts on Tour, the new California putters feature deeper milling in the face of the putter. This modification results in a softer sound at impact, yielding a feel that many better putters prefer.

Each California putter is equipped with a new Pistolero grip with a dancing Cameron logo for a secure hold and great feel in the hands. Also new for 2011, the California putters feature a new Sea Mist finish and recessed red Tour dot graphics that call to mind the tail lights of vintage American automobiles. Coupled with the clean uninterrupted appearance of the stepless shaft, the new California graphics create a modern but timeless look.

Cameron California putters are precision milled from soft 303 stainless steel and fitted with circular weights in the heel and toe that allow each model to be offered at 33", 34" and 35" lengths well as 34"H and 35"H heavier weight configurations. In addition, California putters can be lie adjusted +/- 2 degrees off the standard 71 degrees for even greater fine-tuning. The new line features five models - Del Mar, Fastback, Monterey, Monterey 1.5 and Sonoma - characterized by blade and mid-mallet style heads with five different neck styles. In combination, all these different options make it easy for players to choose a Cameron California putter with the appearance they prefer, the length and weight they need, and a neck configuration that provides the proper amount of toe flow during the stroke.

Each Cameron California putter features a draft sole design that keeps the putter square in the playing position for proper alignment and a high toe set-up that reduces the tendency for players to raise the toe and aim left of target. All five California models are also appointed with a new simulated carbon fiber headcover.

New Scotty Cameron  Studio Select Models !

The new Fastback 1 putter was used for a PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour win in recent months.
More than 20 PGA Tour players have used a Fastback 1 Studio Select putter from Scotty Cameron this season, and now the putter is available at retail.

The new Fastback model, which is a modified Newport style mallet with a more compact head, was in Richard S. Johnson's bag when he won the U.S. Bank Championship on the PGA Tour and in Brendon de Jonge's bag to win the Nationwide Tour's Xerox Classic.

The Fastback is a near face-balanced putter and has a double bend shaft with a half shaft of offset. It will retail for $325.

Twenty more players have used Scotty Cameron's new Squareback model, which as the name suggests, has a more square back flange than the Fastback.

Two more Studio Select models, the Newport 2.6 and the Newport 2.7, are also in the new introductions.

"The four new additions to the Studio Select line are a combination of our work with players at the Putter Studio and on the practice greens across the worldwide professional tours," said Cameron, who is Titleist's master putter designer.

"We listen to their feedback and understand their preferences in a putter. That is where we came up with the ideas for the mid mallet style Fastback and Squareback and the new neck options in the Newport 2.6 and 2.7.  All eight models now available in the Studio Select line have been used and validated at the highest levels of competition."

Titleist Enhances Scotty Cameron Putter Line With Introduction Of New Studio Select Family

Fairhaven, MA (January 24, 2008) - Scotty Cameron by Titleist putters are tour-proven instruments of uncompromised feel, looks and performance. Notably prominent across the worldwide professional tours, Cameron putters have been the top choice of more players and more winners on the U.S. PGA TOUR for more than a decade. As a market leader in the premium putter category, Titleist further solidifies its high performance product offering with the introduction of the Scotty Cameron Studio Select family of Newport-style putters.

The new Studio Select putters are precision milled with circular weights in the heel and toe that allow each model to be offered at 33", 34" and 35" lengths. With four Newport based models the new line features two different body styles - the Newport and Newport 2 - and three different neck configurations - plumbing, short flair and mid slant. This flexibility makes it easy for golfers to choose a Studio Select putter with the appearance they prefer, the length and weight they need, and a neck configuration that provides the proper amount of toe flow during the stroke. In addition, Studio Select putters can be lie adjusted +/- 2 degrees off of the standard 71 degrees and come with six different grip options, including the standard Red Cameron Cord, Black Studio Design, Red Studio Design, Black Baby T, Red Baby T and Red Winn AVS Midsize.

Further customization is available through Scotty's Custom Shop at www.scottycameron.com.

"Different golfers require putters of different lengths, weights, body and neck configurations," comments Scotty Cameron, Master Putter Designer. "However, most putter heads are only weighted for 35-inch shafts and therefore, are much too light for shorter lengths, or too heavy for longer lengths. Too often the same heads are placed in shafts of all lengths. The result is the golfer having to hit at the ball instead of being able to stroke the ball, and that creates distance control problems. The Studio Select putter line delivers a wide range of specifications and options, designed to accommodate a wider range of golfer requirements."

All four putter models – the Newport, Newport 1.5, Newport 2 and Newport 2 Mid Slant - feature a high toe set-up that reduces the tendency for players to raise the toe and aim left of target, and a stepless steel shaft for a clean, unbroken playing position appearance. Tour-inspired cosmetics include three large red dots on the back of the putter, three smaller red dots on the heel of the face, and distinct Studio Select graphics, shaftband and headcover. The model name is engraved into the sole, and the soft 303 stainless material delivers a crisp, solid feel at impact and enhances durability for a timeless style. All models are available in right hand. The Newport 2 model is available left hand in all three lengths as well.

"The first Tour victory with the Studio Select came at this year's Bob Hope Chrysler Classic, where the champion led the field in putting trusting the Newport 2 model.

Studio Select putters will be available beginning March 15, 2008, with a suggested retail price of $325.

The multi-material design and construction of the Detour creates a soft, solid feel with an extremely high moment of inertia. The heavy, front stainless steel weighting bar and rear backweight triangulate weighting at the corners to increase MOI and provide perfect ball performance at impact. Milled pockets lighten the mid-section of the aluminum body for superior stability and deeper CG.
